This update also works for 10.1.5......I personally tried it and it fixed the Classic lockup problem on my 10.1.5.

Thank goodness for this hint. I had a problem with Classic freezing the computer, but it didn't seem to be related to the Keyspan driver. My computer locked up hard whenever I started Classic. When I uninstalled the Palm desktop software, everything worked OK. Additionally, the lock-up only occurred from my main login name, not from any others. Anyway, this hint seemed close enough to my situation to try it (and I was not aware of new Keyspan drivers for Jaguar). At any rate, everything seems to be working properly now.

Keyspan Driver Mac Os X 10.66

  1. Select that, then find the driver for your Mac under 'Software & Documentation'. Unless you are using an older Mac you will probably want the one for 'Mac OS X 10.6.x to 10.8.x.' That is a 64 bit driver that will also work for OS X 'Mavericks' and 'Yosemite'. The zip file will download immediately.
  2. I am unable to install the Keyspan driver on Mac OS X 10.13. There is a new feature in Mac OS X 10.13 that imposes a new level of security for the installation of 3rd party drivers. About half way through the Keyspan driver installation, the new OS puts up a prompt telling the user that they can't proceed until they provide explicit permission.

I am in the process of reverse-engeneering a classic app that uses a Keyspan adapter to communicate with the device it controls.
Then I need to work i OS X, using the same adapter.
To switch from OS X to classic, I run this command:
sudo kextunload -b com.keyspan.iokit.usb.KeyspanUSAdriver
before I briefly unplug the adapter, then start classic (with the Keyspan driver installed).
From classic to OS X, I stop classic, briefly unplug the adapter, then I run this command:
sudo kextload -b com.keyspan.iokit.usb.KeyspanUSAdriver
This works extremely well and avoids to reboot for no good reason.
Keyspan still updates the OS X driver, it has reached version 1.8 by now.
